Shannon D. Spaulding
Shannon began his teaching experience at Hoggard High School in Wilmington, NC where he taught English. After deciding to move closer home to Columbus County, Shannon took over the yearbook program at East Columbus High School and taught freshman and sophomore English. This is where his love for yearbooks began.
After just three years of successfully advising yearbook staffs, Shannon accepted a yearbook representative job with Herff Jones Yearbook in 2004. Now, Shannon has been a yearbook lover and a yearbook representative for almost 20 years. He is a Herff Jones Yearbook Hall of Fame inductee, which represents his highest level of acheivement during his years of service.
What Shannon enjoys most in his career:
Seeing staffs create products that are unique to their school, forming relationships with advisers and watching them grow, and seeing both advisers and students reach their full potential.

About Me
Shannon is a native of Columbus County and is a dedicated family man who enjoys being the glue of his family. He is married to his high school sweet heart, Shelia. He has two daughters, Madison (19) and Zion (11). His wife and his daughters are his entire heart. He enjoys ministering, Bible teaching, fishing, and cooking delicious home cooked meals.

Jaylan A. Staten
As a sophomore at West Bladen High School, Jaylan signed up to be on the yearbook staff . Although he was not exactly sure what he was getting himself into, he knew that yearbook would always be special to him.
After high school, Jaylan attended Fayetteville State University where he served as the Editor-In-Chief of the Fayettevillian yearbook. During his sophomore year, Shannon Spaulding, who was the yearbook representative for Fayetteville State and West Bladen High School, offered him a position as an office clerk. Jaylan immediately said, "Yes!" After just two weeks as an office clerk, Jaylan was offered a position as Shannon's sales associate. Jaylan later graduated from Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration.
Since the beginning of Jaylan's yearbook career, Jaylan and Shannon remain the best of friends.
What Jaylan enjoys most in his career:
Showing yearbook staffers that a yearbook is a piece of history that can be cherished forever, working with yearbook advisers to reach their fullest potential, and giving administrators peace of mind knowing that their yearbook will deliver successfully every year!

About Me
Jaylan's passion is music and singing. He enjoys playing the keyboard and singing at home and at church. As a musician, he enjoys collaborating with singers to help them reach their full vocal potential. Jaylan is also a dog dad to a Siberian Husky named Jayson Ash. Jaylan loves spending time with Jayson and spoiling him like a good dog dad should! Not only does Jaylan have a love for dogs, he has a love for people. When walking into a school, Jaylan has one goal. That goal is to make sure that at least one student has been changed positively because of his presence. Whether it is inside the yearbook classroom, in the front office, or walking down the hallway, Jaylan works to make sure that he makes a positive impact on those he meets.
